Peacock butterfly taken 1 April 2007 on a nice warm (about 14°C) day in Jordanstown. Peacock butterflies lay their eggs on nettles and can over winter and thus can sometimes be seen in the spring. This specimen looks a little worn, so maybe this is what happened? For more details see www.britishbutterflies or www.britishnature.co.uk.
Taken in 13 July 2007 this specimen looks less tatty!
